Photos of the Onalaska, Holmen and West Salem areas are sought for the 2008 Onalaska Photo Contest sponsored by the Onalaska Tourism Commission.

Winning photos may be used in the 2009 visitor guide and other promotional materials, including advertisements and Web sites.

Photos are wanted of any season, any activity and any age of people enjoying all that the area has to offer. Specific photos needed include those depicting events, scenery, shopping, biking, boating, fishing, area restaurants and people having fun in the community.

The first 40 entrants will receive prizes for participation; in addition, category prizes will be given for the following categories:

Events and places (scenic areas, landmarks, festivals, events, shopping and dining)

Sports and recreation (hiking, biking, fishing, enjoying winter recreation, golfing, etc.)

Kids and families

Prizes include gift certificates from Famous Dave’s and Dairy Queen, salon and beauty products from Sue Kolve’s Salon and Day Spa and much more.

Deadline for entries is Friday, Sept. 12. Winners will be notified via e-mail or phone by Oct. 3.
