The following log is based on reports from the Holmen and Onalaska police and fire departments.

Onalaska Police Department

Saturday, Aug. 16

4:24 a.m. — A 44-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested on the 900 block of Green Bay Street for domestic disorderly conduct and battery as a result of an altercation they had because of his snoring.

11:06 a.m. — A 38-year-old man reported someone had stolen his tool box from the back of his truck while it was parked at the Best Buy parking lot. The tool box contained approximately $1,000 worth of tools weighing about 40 pounds.

Sunday, Aug. 17

3:06 a.m. — Two Tomah men were arrested for carrying concealed weapons after being pulled over for erratic driving. Guns and ammunition were found under a rear seat. The driver said the guns belonged to his stepfather and he forgot they were there.

Monday, Aug. 18

7:56 a.m. — A 48-year-old man reported entry was attempted at 2:17 a.m. at the Del’s Auto shop. Two men were seen on surveillance cameras attempting to open the door.

12:13 p.m. — A 51-year-old woman reported someone had, over the last two weeks or so, tried to break into her garage on the 1900 block of Franklin Street. Someone had used a knife-like object to attempt to slip the lock and pushed on the door, causing insulation to fall out and a wreath hanging on the inside of the door to fall. Entry was not gained.

8:38 p.m. — A 45-year-old man reported a cased 18-volt drill and battery pack were stolen from the back of his truck while it was parked on his driveway on the 2300 block of Krause Road. The drill and battery pack were valued at about $189. They were the only items stolen from a variety of tools in the back of the truck.

Tuesday, Aug. 19

11:10 a.m. — A 24-year-old woman reported a man had been caught stealing a TV, DVD player and some cash that belonged to her and the household on the 800 block of 12th Avenue South. When confronted, the man gave all the items back and left the scene before police arrived.

2:08 p.m. — Police responded to a call from a 40-year-old man who witnessed a vehicle crashing into a group of five mailboxes at the 900 block of 10th Avenue North. The car left the scene before police arrived.

Thursday, Aug. 21

9:45 a.m. — A 46-year-old man reported someone had broken into his vehicle while it was parked overnight in an apartment complex parking lot and had stolen a .357 Magnum gun and a GPS system. The gun and the GPS were each valued at $300.

1:30 p.m. — Police accompanied an Xcel Energy employee to a house on the 100 block of Oak Forest Drive where the seal to the meter had been cut allowing the residents unauthorized power to the house.

4:45 p.m. — A 27-year-old man reported someone had broken into his vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot on the 900 block of 13th Avenue South and stolen his car stereo system worth approximately $220.

5:36 p.m. — A 50-year-old woman reported what she believed were fraudulent activities by a funeral home. The accusations were related to the 2005 death of her mother when the funeral home billed her $7,350 which included a charge of $427 in finance charges that were not on original papers.

7:41 p.m. — Police responded to a hazard check at the spillway on the 100 block of South Court Street where a manhole cover was discovered to be missing. The cost of replacement was estimated at $150 to $200.

Sunday, Aug. 24

8:21 a.m. — A 28-year-old man was arrested for theft after two brothers reported their construction trailer with materials had been stolen from a job site on the 1000 block of Wilson Street sometime overnight. A witness led police to the suspect’s residence down the block where police found the trailer and some of the materials in the back yard. The man was intoxicated when arrested.

Holmen Police Department

Monday, Aug. 11

3:05 p.m. — A 15-year-old Onalaska girl was assaulted while on her bike on the bike trail near the 400 block of First Avenue West. She reported two men jumped out onto the trail, pulled her off her bike and demanded money. She started screaming and they dragged her on the ground, threw sand in her face and ran off in an unknown direction. The incident is still under investigation.

Monday, Aug. 18

12:49 a.m. — A La Crosse woman refused to leave the Holmen Legion bar because she claimed her purse had been stolen. She reported she had $1,000 in cash, two sets of earrings and two necklaces in her purse.

4:30 a.m. — A 20-year-old man was cited for criminal trespass for breaking into Paul’s Towing lot and taking the drum set that had been with the truck at the time of a vehicle crash the night before.

8:57 a.m. — The Holmen Drive BP reported a $55.01 gas drive off.

11:26 a.m. — A 73-year-old man from the 800 block of Commerce Street reported someone had stolen his boat and its motor valued at approximately $5,000. It was noticed missing on Friday.

3:33 p.m. — A woman on the 1600 block of Cliffview Drive reported her 15-year-old daughter had written several personal checks for cash in order to buy marijuana.

Tuesday, Aug. 19

11:42 a.m. — Police assisted first responders at Bethany Heights for a man complaining of chest pains.

Wednesday, Aug. 20

6:59 a.m. — A 26-year-old man reported someone had damaged his car sometime overnight while it was parked on the 800 block of Starlite Drive. The driver side window was smashed out with glass on the road.

7:18 a.m. — A woman on the 1100 block of Hanson Drive, Onalaska, reported three of her vehicles had been broken into overnight. Nothing appeared to be missing, but the hood of one was propped open, a rear door open on another and a handle to a third vehicle was missing.

9:39 a.m. — Police assisted a woman on the 400 block of Holmen Drive North after she fell off a curb and hit her head.

Friday, Aug. 22

2:13 p.m. — A 14-year-old was cited for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon for shooting arrows from the backyard on the 1500 block of Viking Avenue.

Saturday, Aug. 23

1:37 a.m. — Four or five people were kicked out of Smokey’s Bar but refused to leave. They were not around when police arrived.

6:30 p.m. — A 48-year-old woman reported someone had damaged her car by scratching it down the driver’s side of her van from the side mirror to the gas cap area. The vehicle had been parked on her driveway on the 1100 block of Hanson Road. All the caps to the air stems of her tires had been removed.

Tuesday, Aug. 19

11:45 a.m. — First responder call on Highway SS for a person injured in a fall.

4:01 p.m. — First responder call on Main Street for a person with a breathing problem.

Wednesday, Aug. 20

4:01 a.m. — First responder call on Main Street for a person injured in a fall.

2:56 p.m. — First responder call on Sand Lake Road for a person suffering from chills.

4:17 p.m. — First responder call on Carol Lane for a person having an anxiety attack.

4:27 p.m. — Fire call and first responder call on Braund Street and Highway 16 for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

5:22 p.m. — Fire call on Fourth Avenue North for a carbon monoxide incident.

7:34 p.m. — First responder call on Crossing Meadow Drive for a person reported to be having a seizure.

Thursday, Aug. 21

3:20 a.m. — First responder call on Main Street for a person having a breathing problem.

4:34 a.m. — First responder call on Main Street for a person suffering from a head injury.

11:03 a.m. — Fire call on Market place for a fire alarm that went off.

4:15 p.m. — Fire call on Quincy Street for a smoke detector activation but there was no fire.

6:16 p.m. — First responder call on Crossing Meadow Drive for a child having a seizure.

6:26 p.m. — First responder call on Main Street for a person suffering chest pains.

Friday, Aug. 22

11:07 a.m. — First responder call on Main Street for a person with an altered level of consciousness.

10:42 p.m. — Fire call and first responder call in highways 16 and OS for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Saturday, Aug. 23

10:16 a.m. — Fire call on 13th Avenue South for a public service.

Sunday, Aug. 24

6:58 a.m. — Fire call on Kinney Coulee Road South that turned out to be a system malfunction.

11:21 a.m. — First responder call on Critter Court for a person having difficulty breathing.

8:40 p.m. — First responder call on 17th Avenue South for a person injured in a fall.

Monday, Aug. 25

8:52 a.m. — Fire call and first responder call on Second Avenue South for a rescue for someone who got pinned inside a truck.

11:38 a.m. — Fire call on Highway 16 for smoke or odor removal.

4:16 p.m. — First responder call on Highway 16 for a laceration to the leg.

6:16 p.m. — Fire call on Market Place that turned out to be an unintentional call.

9:21 p.m. — First responder call on Court Road for a person suffering from chest pains.

Sunday, Aug. 17

12:23 a.m. — First responder call on the 100 block of Mill street for a person with a head injury.

5:07 a.m. — First responder call on the W7200 block of Heram Road for a person who was ill.

Monday, Aug. 18

11:51 a.m. — First responder call on the 1000 block of McHugh Road for a person with a leg injury.

1:46 p.m. — First responder call on the 600 block of Malin Court for a person who had a stroke.

Tuesday, Aug. 19

11:43 a.m. — First responder call on the 100 block of Juniper Lane for a person having chest pains.

8:32 p.m. — First responder call on the W7000 block of Highway M for a person injured in a fall.

Wednesday, Aug. 20

9:39 a.m. — First responder call on the 400 block of Holmen Drive North for a person injured in a fall.

4:36 p.m. — First responder call on the W7200 block of North Shore Drive for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Thursday, Aug. 21

11:23 p.m. — First responder call on the W6600 block of Reef Road for a person with a leg injury.

Friday, Aug. 22

12:25 p.m. — First responder call on the N8300 block of Highway 53 North for a person injured in a fall.

Saturday, Aug. 23

9:53 p.m. — First responder call on the W7500 block of Council Bay Road for a person having an allergic reaction.
