Criminal drug charges will be filed Wednesday against four men, with one facing additional charges for firing two shots outside an Onalaska apartment building late Saturday, police said.
Shots were fired outside 510 Quincy St. about 10 p.m. Onalaska police found two spent shell casings but no shooter.
Officers then were sent to 518 Quincy St., Apt. 1, about an hour later after receiving an anonymous call that 18-year-old Paul Vang of Holmen was violating a condition of his probation, according to police.
Officers found methamphetamine, marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms inside the apartment, plus a handgun believed used in the earlier shooting, according to Onalaska police Chief Tim Hauser. Police did not reveal the quantity of drugs seized.
“There is an indication this was gang-related and connected to drug distribution from the Twin Cities,” La Crosse County Deputy District Attorney Loralee Clark said during a bond hearing Monday.
Vang faces charges of first-degree reckless endangerment while armed for reportedly firing the gun and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. He is in the La Crosse County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
Jesse Vang, 18, of St. Paul, Minn., faces charges of delivery of methamphetamine, THC and mushrooms. He is in jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
Koua Vue, 26, of Onalaska faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, delivery of methamphetamine, THC and mushrooms and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is in jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
Toua Vue, 25, of Onalaska faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and delivery of methamphetamine, THC and mushrooms. He is in jail on a $1,000 cash bond.
A fifth person, 21-year-old Naly Lor of Onalaska, faces a charge of obstructing officers. She was released Monday on a $1,000 signature bond.
All five are due back in court Wednesday.
