The Rev. Richard Lively is the new senior pastor at Sand Lake Wesleyan Church in Onalaska.
Most recently, Lively was pastor of the Bettendorf (Iowa) campus of Heritage Wesleyan Church, Rock Island, Ill. From 2003-2007, he was pastor of Global Outreach at Heritage in Rock Island.
Lively grew up in a missionary family and lived in Puerto Rico and Papua-New Guinea, and performed short-term service in southern Africa.
From 2001-2004, Lively was director of the Wesleyan Church’s JESUS Film Project and trained teams worldwide including Brazil, Haiti, Sierra Leone, Russia, India, Indonesia, Papua-New Guinea and Bougainville. His passport has more than 40 country stamps.
For two years, he was pastor, Bible school president and primary faculty at the Wesleyan Bible Institute in Vladimir, Russia. He also taught religion and cross-cultural studies at Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Ind.
In addition, Lively was a pastor in Deland, Fla., and a youth pastor in Sharonville, Ohio.
Lively played college tennis and coached at the high school and college levels. He also enjoys golf and spent one international trip teaching golf in China.
Lively and his wife, Kathy, have three children: Richie, Danny and Emma.
