On Aug. 5, I received a call from an organization calling ifself Forward Strategies. The phone number from my caller ID is 608-467-0296. The caller claimed to be conducting an independent political survey.

They asked a few basic questions and then proceeded to ask if I agreed with a series of negative comments about Sen. Dan Kapanke. I specifically asked if this was a push poll, and was informed “no.” After the pollster finished with the negative comments about Kapanke, he switched to positive comments about Tara Johnson, Kapanke’s Democratic opponent.

A poll skewed against one candidate and toward another is a push poll. Johnson and her supporters would have you believe she is above this kind of dirty politics, but the truth is she is running a very muddy campaign and should be ashamed of herself.
