LETTER: Holmen government needs public forum

I have had opportunity to examine several of the Holmen village committee agendas and the village board agendas. I find it interesting that in Holmen, the citizens have no opportunity to be heard by the committees or the village board in a public forum.

It would appear that in order to address the village government, one must do it with each board or committee member individually, whereby there would be no public record of the conversation as the committees and the board do not allow for public comment.

With no ability to address the board, how are the people supposed to petition their government? With no ability to address the board, how are the people to communicate their concerns, to those that represent them, in an open forum?

I think it is high time the village of Holmen allow the people to be heard.
