When Onalaska and Holmen area students do well, we want to hear about it. The Onalaska Community Life and Holmen Courier publish news about student achievements from elementary to college. Here is the latest good news about Onalaska and Holmen area students:

Sue Rosendale, a 2005 Holmen High graduate, has been named to an executive position in the professional organization Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for the 2008-2009 academic year. Rosendale, as the chapter historian, assumes the responsibilities of preserving all important chapter documents, photographing all chapter events and meetings and putting them all together in a scrapbook on top of helping plan meetings and events.

Rosendale is senior at UW-L majoring in early adolescent-adolescent English education and kindergarten through 12th-grade Spanish education.

McKenzie Holthaus, of Onalaska, and Alison Shriver, of Holmen, received $500 Altra Federal Credit Union Community Service Scholarships. Altra Federal Credit Union awards the scholarships to members who have a demonstrated commitment to community service throughout their high school careers.

The following Onalaska students were named to the spring semester 2008 dean’s list at Iowa State University: Elizabeth Anne Brock, Christine V. Fruehling, Marianne Elizabeth Ring and Megan Kathleen Stowers.

David Dubczak, of Onalaska, was named to the spring semester 2008 dean’s list at Drake University.

The following students were named to the Western Technical College President’s List of High Distinction for spring semester 2008:

  • HOLMEN: Kayla Christen, Joseph Crankshaw, Jamie Kline, Lauren Klubertanz, Betsy Mashak, Katrina Meyer, Mercy Moua, Casie Rock, Hilary Running, Stephanie Rybold, Bradey Schleis, Charles Sheets, Steven Simon, Tiffani Smoot and Connie Tallman.
