The following log is based on reports from the Holmen and Onalaska police and fire departments.

Onalaska Police Department

Sunday, June 29

11:30 a.m. — A 16-year-old boy was cited for disorderly conduct by telephone for harassing his ex-girlfriend, the mother of his child, with 18-25 phone calls a day at her residence on the 2000 block of Grandview Boulevard.

9:23 p.m. — Police broke through a door of a home on the 200 block of Carter Place because of a Lifeline alert being activated. No one was in the home and police turned off the alarm.

11:01 p.m. — A La Crosse couple reported their motorcycle helmets had been stolen off their motorcycle while they were at the fireworks at the Omni Center. The helmets had been attached to the mirrors. One helmet was valued at $550 while the other was valued at $200.

Monday, June 30

7:09 p.m. — An employee of Hoppens Realty reported the theft of six realty signs from the Nathan Hills Estate Addition sometime over the weekend. The cost was estimated to be about $200 to replace them.

Tuesday, July 1

12:33 p.m. — A 33-year-old Onalaska woman was cited for theft and defrauding an innkeeper when she left the Microtel Inn without paying $32.20 from her room bill and taking about $80 worth of amenities from the room.

1:02 p.m. — A 43-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle while riding her bike eastbound on Main Street near the Highway 53 south-bound off-ramp. The woman said a woman in a red Vue failed to yield, turned eastbound onto Main and left the scene.

5:54 p.m. — A woman on the 800 block of Valley Court reported someone had damaged the screen of her back porch. It appeared someone had tried to gain entry, but was unsuccessful.

Wednesday, July 2

2:20 p.m. — A car that was stolen in West Salem was found with a book of stolen checks from a home on the 800 block of Sand Lake Road. The Onalaska woman did not know who would have the opportunity to steal the checks and she did not know they were stolen.

On Friday, July 4, two women were arrested for forgery for writing a $149.54 check to Wal-Mart from the book of stolen checks.

5:51 p.m. — An 84-year-old man reported $6,100 stolen from his home on the 300 block of Fern Street. The older man said a man who had sealed his driveway two or three years ago came back with two other men asking if he wanted them to repair cracks in the driveway. Two of the men kept the older man distracted outside by saying they needed the water hose and the lawn furniture moved while another went into the house. The one inside the house suddenly yelled they had to leave on an emergency because a worker on another site had been injured.

After they left, the older man noticed the cash was missing from a bedroom drawer while his wife, with Alzheimer’s, was in the room.

Thursday, July 3

3:10 p.m. — A 54-year-old woman who left her purse in her car at the Wal-Mart parking lot reported it had been stolen. She said she was not aware a child passenger of her car had rolled a window down.

3:52 p.m. — A 32-year-old woman was arrested for reckless endangerment of safety of a child and a probation hold for leaving her six-month old child alone in the car for an hour and a half without air conditioning while at the Dollar Tree on Market Place. The child was turned over to Child Protective Services.

5:21 p.m. — A 21-year-old man was arrested for battery for beating up his roommate when they argued about the rent check for the apartment on the 500 block of Bluebird Court.

Friday, July 4

8:45 a.m. — An employee of the Kwik Trip on Highway 16 reported a gas drive-off of $52.91.

3:41 p.m. — A 48-year-old man was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct for yelling obscenities outside an apartment on the 800 block of Vilas Street.

Saturday, July 5

1:49 p.m. — A 20-year-old man reported damage to his vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot of the old Center 90 Skogen’s IGA. Someone had poured sugar into the gas tank and probably into the oil container.

Sunday, July 6

6:34 p.m. — A 71-year-old man reported damage to his garage on the 2300 block of East Avenue North that was done while he was away for the holiday weekend. It appeared there were 7-8 different holes apparently from fireworks that went through the siding of the garage.

Holmen Police Department

Monday, June 30

1:05 p.m. — A woman on the 900 block of Western Avenue reported a rocking chair had been stolen from her front yard while the family went away for the weekend.

8:23 p.m. — Two brothers, one 20 and the other 15, were cited for underage drinking after police responded to a call about a fight on the 800 block of Starlite Drive.

Wednesday, July 2

7 a.m. — A 32-year-old man was arrested on the 600 block of Amy Drive for domestic disorderly conduct and disorderly conduct while armed. He and his girlfriend had an argument because she was getting her own apartment. He had dropped his girl friend off at Northern Engraving angry and yelling. He said he was going to get a gun and kill everyone at Northern Engraving. The plant was put on lockdown. The man told police he never threatened to kill anyone.

11:45 a.m. — Vandals damaged a sign at the Remington Hills Park on the 1100 block of Cherry Lane. The damage is estimated to be $924.70.

1:20 p.m. — A woman reported theft of lawn statues from the yard of her home on the 200 block of Wall Street East.

Thursday, July 3

2:31 p.m. — A 16-year-old boy was referred to social services regarding a disorderly conduct charge for entering the home of his girlfriend and beating up another boy who was at the home on the 600 block of Duffs Avenue.

4:32 p.m. — A 14-year-old girl was referred to social services for disorderly conduct while at her legal guardians’ home on the 400 block of Ryan Street.

7:27 p.m. — Police responded to a fire call on the 400 block of Kimberly Street. A glass oven door had exploded just after the stove had been turned on.

11:01 p.m. — Two 16-year-old boys were given verbal warnings for setting a fire in a wheel barrel and leaving a gas can near the fire they set on Manchester Lane.

Friday, July 4

1:29 p.m. — A woman on the 800 block of Remington Drive reported outgoing mail was stolen from her mailbox. A bill payment to an energy company had been taken from the mailbox.

Saturday, July 5

1:02 a.m. — Four juveniles were apprehended in connection with harassing people by ringing doorbells and running. They rang the doorbell on the 3000 block of South Pleasant Drive. When the owner came to answer the door, they ran and set a smoke bomb that went off on the sidewalk. The owner of the home caught one of the boys and the boy led police back to where they all were. The parents of the other boys were upset about what had happened.

Monday, July 7

8:54 a.m. — A 13-year-old boy was referred to juvenile services for disorderly conduct for harassing a girl with a stick and for theft after stealing a teacher’s cell phone and erasing all the contact information while at the middle school in May.

Tuesday, July 1

2:20 p.m. — First responder call on 12th Avenue South for a person that was shaking.

6:34 p.m. — First responder call on Sixth Avenue North for a person having a seizure.

8:39 p.m. — First responder call on Market Place for a person having difficulty breathing.

Wednesday, July 2

5:06 p.m. — First responder call on Quincy Street for a person who was bleeding.

Thursday, July 3

9:30 a.m. — First responder call on Critter Court for a person experiencing weakness.

1:11 p.m. — Fire call on the 800 block of Park Avenue for a search for a person.

Saturday, July 5

4:18 a.m. — First responder call on 13th Avenue South for a possible suicide by drug overdose.

1:58 p.m. — First responder call on 17th Avenue South for a person injured in a fall.

Sunday, July 6

5:38 a.m. — First responder call on 13th Avenue South for a person with an unknown medical problem.

8:18 a.m. — First responder call on Main Street for a person having chest pain.

10:57 a.m. — First responder call on Beverly Drive for a person who was passed out.

3:32 p.m. — First responder call on Mason Street for a person injured in a fall.

5:28 p.m. — First responder call on Rosewood Trail for a person having a diabetic problem.

6:38 p.m. — First responder call on Rosewood Trail for a person having a diabetic problem.

Monday, July 7

7:37 a.m. — First responder call on Quincy Street for an alcohol-related problem.

7:13 p.m. — First responder call on County B for a person injured in a fall.

9:24 p.m. — First responder call on Bond Road for a person who was ill.

Saturday, June 29

8:46 a.m. — First responder call on the N7300 block of O.L. Olson Road for a person who was ill.

11:16 p.m. — First responder call on the 1500 block of Holmen Drive for a person having a seizure.

Sunday, June 30

1:40 a.m. — Fire call on the 100 block of State Street for a dumpster fire.

Wednesday, July 2

12:30 p.m. — First responder call on the N6000 block of Highway ZZ for a person who was ill.

Thursday, July 3

7:29 p.m. — Fire call on the 400 block of Kimberly Street for a chemical hazard.

Friday, July 4

11:22 a.m. — First responder call on the 600 block of Holmen Drive North for a person having chest pains.

6:47 p.m. — Fire call on the W7500 block of McHugh Court West for a grass fire.
