Two Onalaska homes were winners in the La Crosse Area Builders Association’s 2008 Parade of Homes.

The 3,060-square-foot home by Traditional Trades won the “Move-Up Category” by showcasing its character with built-ins in the living room and interesting ceiling lighting to add even more charm.

The kitchen features a flat-screen above the pantry for easy viewing while cooking. The home, with four bedrooms and 3.5 baths, also features a centrally located office area, charming child’s room and arched windows and complementary arched entry.

The home winning the “Affordable” category is an interesting joint adventure by Mastercraft Homes and Neumeister Construction. As the first home in Savannah Village, Wisconsin’s first green development, the home matches its energy savings with attractive features.

Beautiful painting techniques accent a home full of character with doorways featuring custom metal scrollwork and an open, inviting layout. Not only is the home a recipient of the highest Wisconsin Energy Star rating, homeowners will get the low-maintenance benefits of being part of the Savannah Village Condominium Association, although the two-bedroom, two-bathroom home has its own lot.

Impartial judges went through all the homes in the corresponding price categories and named Traditional Trades and Mastercraft-Neumeister the winner based on quality of construction, floorplan, and value.

Judges also selected winners in other price categories:

  • Ultimate Home: Kirchner Custom Builders for the home at 770 Shore Acres Road, La Crescent, Minn.

  • Best Interior Design: Gorman Construction for the home at 500 Driftwood St. on Lake Neshonoc.

Attendees also voted Gorman’s home as their favorite by voting on the bottom of their ticket and turning it in at the last home they vistited.
